ABOUT THE EVENT

These acclaimed songwriters and storytellers take the stage in the round to share their songs, their inspirations and the magic that happens when great artists connect. From heart-felt ballads to foot-stomping anthems, each artist brings a unique voice and style, creating a night of music that is raw, real, and deeply moving.

Grace Morrison is an award-winning singer-songwriter and story-teller who lives on Cape Cod and writes in a genre she created and named ‘Saltwater Country.’ Her prolific career has moved from singing in coffee shops as a high-schooler to sharing the stage with legends such as Eddie Money and Greg Douglass to collaborating and cowriting with Nashville song-writing greats including Grammy-winner Lori McKenna.  Morrison’s newest album, Saltwater Country, is rooted in her deep connection to the Cape Cod shore. The songs range from the gritty, swampy Poor Man’s Daughter to the twangy, fun-filled Beer in a Teacup. It was released in June.

Marc Douglas Berardo is a nationally recognized songwriter who lives on the Rhode Island coast.  His songs mine the deep feelings and lessons learned from real life characters and situations. Combined with his humor and deft storytelling, they lead the audience into a deep, sometimes spiritual experience. He has opened for or shared the stage with numerous heavyweights including The Doobie Brothers, 10,000 Maniacs, The Buffalo Springfield, Red Molly, and Kevin Welch.  His new full-length record, The Beauty of This Now, was released in May.

Walt Wilkins has been a near constant presence on the Texas Music Chart as a songwriter, producer, singer, guitar player and artist.  He spent a decade in the Nashville Country Music business trenches writing songs that were recorded by over 100 artists including Pat Green, Brandon Ryder, Kenny Rogers, Ricky Skaggs and Ty Herdon.  A version of Trains I Missed recorded by Balsam Range has been nominated as song of the year by the International Bluegrass Association, and Wilkins has earned a star on the South Texas Music Walk of Fame. His latest record, Through the Stars, was released in February.
